The catfish once hooked (through the mouth of course :-)) if it is still water in a small radius, while the combat is much more difficult in the current where it tends to use its size to push leaving dall'acqua. Per evitare spiacevoli imprevisti sono importanti i primi attimi del combattimento dove non bisogna far prendere troppi metri di filo al pesce e se siamo alle prime armi con un'attrezzatura nuova non potremo sapere quanto forzare. Personalmente sul mio Saragosa, prendendo come riferimento otto clic indietro dal tutto chiuso, tengo la frizione tarata a circa 5kg, per poi passare a poco più di 6kg se devo forzare maggiormente nel combattimento. Per intendersi con 6kg di frizione non riesco a mano a tirare il filo da davanti il guidafilo. Ovviamente questi valori sono stati presi al banco dopo aver visto la posizione della frizione in pesca, ma è bene fare queste prove per sapere e capire quanto forzare durante il combattimento.
