September 4, 2009 Today in Rome was held between the expected inconrtro company, national unions and MSW at the headquarters of Confindustria in Rome. To expect there was a large number of policemen in riot gear as if it was a service order for the G8 and they expected a violent demonstration on our part. Peacefully off the bus, we placed our banner and puppet mascot and waited for the outcome of the meeting in an orderly fashion. Even the national delegates of all unions have criticized the deployment of forces totally inappropriate, there is probably chi ancora ci considera delinquenti, mentre siamo solo lavoratori che vogliono difendere il proprio posto di lavoro.
L'azienda ha confermato l'assoluta volontà di chiudere i battenti confermando le motivazioni già note: mercato europeo non più interessante, capacità produttiva dello stabilimento cinese adeguato ai volumi richiesti, costo elevato della manod'opera italiana. I sindacati tutti hanno naturalmente respinto l'ipotesi di un accordo per la chiusura, rimandando le decisioni al prossimo incontro che si terrà in data da destinarsi presso il Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico. Contestualmente è stato richiesto all'azienda, in alternativa alla chiusura, di valutare la possibilità di una riconversione dello stabilimento safeguarding jobs.
